Our reporting is governed by the SAMREC Code (2007 edition - July 2009 amended version), Kumba’s Resource and Reserve Reporting Policy , and supporting reporting procedures and templates derived from the latter. The material contained in this document serves as an indication of Kumba’s Ore Reserve and Mineral Resource status at 31 December 2012. It is not an inventory of all mineral occurrences drilled or sampled but is a realistic record of those which, under assumed and justifiable technical and economic conditions, may be economically extractable at current and in the future. The term ‘Ore Reserves’ in the context of this report has the same meaning as ‘Mineral Reserves’, as defined by the SAMREC Code. In the case of Kumba, the term ‘Ore Reserves’ is preferred because it emphasises the difference between these and Mineral Resources.
