At Kumba we realise that our economic performance has a significant impact on our stakeholders. Ours is a long-term business, and in what we do today, we need to plan for our operations and profitability for decades to come. Given that our resources have a finite life, we continue to invest in exploration and research and development to extend our operations’ life and to explore ways of beneficiating low grade material. Importantly, we also consider the process and consequences of closure from the inception of each project, with a view to contributing to the sustainability of our
communities post the closure of our mines.
