Executive Appointments

Kumba Iron Ore ("Kumba") announces the following changes to its senior executive team:
Ras Myburgh, Chief Executive Officer will, as part of Kumba's efforts to continue to support Eskom in developing solutions to meet South Africa's energy needs, begin a secondment with Eskom by assuming an important responsibility of advising the utility on its long term coal sourcing strategy and its implementation for all of Eskom's power stations. Ras is well positioned to fulfil this important role given his previous experience with Eskom and as Managing Director of Kumba Resources' coal division.
Chris Griffith is appointed Chief Executive Officer of Kumba Iron Ore. Chris will join Kumba from Anglo Platinum, where he is currently the executive responsible for all joint venture operations.
These changes will take effect on 1 July 2008 (Ras will be resigning as CEO and director and Chris will take up these positions).

Ras Myburgh said, "My involvement with Eskom presents a unique and challenging opportunity to make a difference in a matter that touches us all. I believe that my previous experience in the Eskom Generation Division, together with my mining experience, will enable me to make a contribution alongside coal suppliers in working to secure the current and future power needs of South Africa".
